Is a debt management plan the same as an IVA?

Just this.

I was on a debt management plan with Consumer Credit Counselling Service. I still paid back everything I owed just over a longer period of time. It was all cleared six years ago.

I'm now older, wiser and saving for a deposit and worried my past will bite me on the arse. My credit rating is now excellent.

Was this an IVA? Confused

No, but being on a dmp will have caused an adverse rating. If it is now excellent, don't worry. Adverse stuff only lasts 6 years in any case.

No, an IVA requires a lot of legal documentation - you would know and have signed paperwork acknowledging if you had one. It sounds like you had a debt management plan. It would probably be worth getting a copy of your credit report to check for CCJs though.
