I made a claim for personal injury after being involved in a car accident late last year. A month ago, the other party made a generous settlement offer which I accepted. I was advised that I should receive a cheque within about 4 weeks, but as I hadn't received anything I called my solicitor today for an update.
Solicitor said that they had received "no response" from the other party after forwarding my acceptance letter, despite many attempts having been made. They explained that the next step would be a pre-action letter, and that we may need to issue court proceedings in order to enforce the payment.
Does this happen often? I'm a bit concerned as everything else seemed to have been dealt with swiftly. Should I keep calling my solicitor for updates or leave them to it?
