SMP/Maternity Allowance

Just a quick question, I currently work for the NHS on a temporary contract which finishes in March.

I started infertility treatment when I had been in my current job for over a year, but since I have moved house and worked 2 different temporary, part time roles. I am looking for a full time permanent position, however I'm currently on my 1st cycle of clomid. After 16 months struggling with infertility I didn't want to stop treatment while I look for work, but I'm just getting a bit panicky about maternity pay if we do get lucky.

Just two scenarios I want to ask someone as the gov.uk calculators are confusing me

1. I get pregnant before finding a new job, whilst still only working temporary/part time. Would I qualify for anything? I have worked full time up until June and part time ever since.

1. I get a new job and then find out I'm pregnant whilst still new in the role, would I qualify for anything?

1. Maternity allowance
2. SMP (I think you need to have been in the job from the first day of your last period to get SMP but if you don’t get that, you’d get Maternity Allowance).
