I don't know, but am bumping this for you as hopefully someone else does. If you can ask a solicitor I think they have to keep it confidential and will tell you where you stand.

It depends how long ago and about what.

Raven88 · 17/10/2018 22:55

It depends on what you lied about but you could be charged with perverting the course of justice.

April2020mom · 17/10/2018 23:15

What did you lie about? Irregardless it’s good to talk with a lawyer regarding your options now. Without more information I have no advice for you but I do have some questions. Was it serious? What made you think this is a good idea? Are you able to retract the statement or not?

Deedee1969 · 17/10/2018 23:37

Yes it was serious. I don’t know if I can retract my statement or not. It happened over a year ago but it’s with the PPS at the minute

^ this.

You need to speak to a solicitor.

icouldwriteabook · 17/10/2018 23:41

You can retract your statement at any point.

PLEASE DO.

Whatever the consequences, never ever lie in a statement that will go to court as evidence, you are pereverting the course of justice and as I’m sure you are aware, committing a criminal offence.

Go and retract at the first opportunity, explain why you lied and offer to submit a new one.

Please think logically.

Yes it was serious. I don’t know if I can retract my statement or not.

What do you mean you don't know if you can or not? If you lied then you need to retract it!
