Residency order

Hello,
So my husband has filed papers to go for residency of our 5 yr old son. Our son has been not seeing his father due to his fathers drinking. I have a non molestation order as he is abusive. He can see his dad when he is sober for longer than a day. Im worried he is going to win as it is an uhealthy enviroment for our son and i want to prevent him growing up like his dad, an addict. I really do not know what to do, his grandmother will be paying for legal costs where i have nothing. He says i left because of finances, i left because he spent every night getting drunk in his room playing his guitar. Help. Im not sure what else to say as there is so much more to it, like he tried to commit suicide, so i called the police, then he threatened it again!

By the sound of it he doesn't stand a chance.

Thankyou Collaborate, no idea why he has gone for it!

He doesn't sound like he has a chance.
My ex went for residency and ended up with supervised contact in a contact centre.
He went for everything and said he'd hoped he'd get something rather than aiming low and end up with nothing.
You can get free 30 mins with solicitors - and possibly legal aid depending on your circumstances - they don't do this in my area anymore so may be different in yours :-)
