Will a criminal compensation award affect legal aid?

Hi there,
I was attacked and suffered prolonged dv and coercive control by my ex . We are in family court and I receive legal aid.

My isva has advised me that I am eligible to apply for compensation, but I'm concerned it'll affect legal aid and mess up the process. It's stressful enough already without having to worry about the financial side.

Anything under £3,000 (assuming you have no savings presently) and you'll be fine. Anything over £8000 and you'll lose your legal aid. Between £3k and £8k you pay a capital contribution to the LAA such as will leave you with £3k.
