O2 problems, advice?

Not sure if this is the correct place to post...

I upgraded my phone and therefore sent my old phone back to o2 recycle. It was in perfect working order. They were meant to be giving me £90 for it.

I used the packaging provided and the postage they provided. I tracked the package and it arrived after a couple of days.

Approx a week later I have had an email from o2 saying the phone doesn't switch on or accept charge and therefore they will be giving me nothing. They have said they will send the now non working phone back to me.

I am adamant the phone was fine before I posted it! I used it right up until the day before.

Do I have any rights here? I'm guessing something happened in transit to the phone so do I just have to suck it up and accept the non working phone back?

Seems petty but could really use the £90 right now!!

If it doesn’t work when you get it back there’s nothing you can do. If you can get it to work I suggest you take it to an O2 shop and get them to confirm it works.

I returned a phone to o2 and they reduced money for scratches.

It's probably a bit late now but I find maxima great. They also take non working ones if you cannot get it working again.
