Private foster arrangements, looking after an unrelated child

Hi,

Just looking for some quick advice if possible please.

I'm currently looking after an unrelated child, the mother requested me and social workers did a quick scout round of my house and have allowed me to have the child..

Now the child's grandparent has been in touch and is saying they are going to get a court order and take the child. And that SS can't stop them, is the correct?
They do not want me to tell the social workers their plan.

I don't actually know where I stand.

Oh, and are you happy with that, and is the mum?

I assume mum is happy with everything, I don't know, we've had only text contact via my daughter.

She has mental health appointments today and will be the first time since Monday that she's seen baby.

Ok, so now baby is being picked up Sunday.....

My DD took baby I to town whilst I was at work and met baby mum and GP, for 5 minutes!

I am glad you spoke to the SW - but I am wondering why the mother didn't mention the GP as someone who could take the baby at the time and there might be a reason for that.

Because she didn't tell her mum till after the fact and after they'd given baby to me.

There was an incident last week, we were caught up in with mum and baby.
A situation that if mum had been more forthcoming wouldn't have escalated to the stage it did. (Police and SS)

This incident resulted in the GPs coming here and taking mum and baby back to theirs for the weekend .

On the Monday mum ended up in the hospital, but didn't tell her parents, till Tuesday afternoon, after baby had been given to me by SS, supposedly for 2 days...

And then here we are!
