CCJ

Please can anyone advise.

I recently checked my credit score and found that a CCJ has been filed against me. I knew nothing about the CCJ as all the correspondence must have gone to a previous address where I haven't lived for over 9 months.

The CCJ relates to a parking charge which I challenged but just got passed from pillar to post never really getting a response to my complaint. When I moved I had all my mail redirected for 3 months and never received any further communication. I therefore presumed they were no longer pursuing the charge.

It's £255 to request the order to be set aside and not guaranteed. So I could end up paying the £255 and still have a CCJ and the charge to pay. It's gone over a month so I can't just pay it and have it removed.

I'm a single parent and therefore need to have good credit as I'm ultimately responsible for all of the household finances. I've always previously had excellent credit score.

Any advice on the best way to proceed?
