Payment for half the divorce

Hi,
My ex agreed to pay half of the divorce costs, I’m waiting for the Nisi arriving with the official stamp to honour payment but I have a funny feeling he’s going to say he can’t afford to pay - he’s resigned from his job to avoid paying CMS, what happens if he says he can’t pay?

If ex is unemployed and not receiving benefits as he chose to resign it maybe that he genuinely can't pay. Maybe he is living off savings until divorce is over?
