Changing a court ordered access and/or residency

Can the amount of access and/or who a child lives with be changed without going to court once a court order is in place (assuming all parties agree) or does it have to go back to court to be varied?

If all parties are in agreement you can simply ignore the court order. You don't have to get it changed.
