Caught speeding/ Speed awareness course??

Hi . So basically to the point I was caught driving at 36 on a 30 mph. I've been driving less than 2 years . Has anyone been offered a speed awareness course as a newish driver of less than 2 years? Instead of 3 points.. thanks :)

Loads were on my course. Do it! It's a really good course. Honestly I loved mine!

How were you caught ? Camera, or actual officer stop ?

I think it’s for 5 miles and under - or at least it was on my course

isn't there a lower threshold for accumulation of points for new drivers?

I'd take the course if it was offered, it can only help you be more speed aware....but really not sure what standard procedure is theses days

I’ve just been offered speed awareness. Was going faster than you but have been driving longer. I guess all you can do is wait and see. Good luck! IME they’ve been really prompt with the letters (car is in DH’s name so we had a few back and forths - under a week from me sending the forms back to receiving a reply both times) so you shouldn’t have too long to wait.
