Question about child contacts order court cases

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any advice please.
Husband and I are separating , 2.5 year old daughter . He was emotionally abusuve though in insidious way, will be hard to prove though reinforced by my solicitor .
Have been through mediation , currently in disputes over child access as he is demanding 50/50 shared care where as I strongly feel/ felt in best interest of our daughter to have primary home for first few years with very regular contact . Mediator proposed a 60/40 split as way forward which is the maximum I feel comfortable with . Husband has now got to decide whether he wants to agree to this and both acknowledged if not will end up in court .

I am so confused over what is best . On the one hand my solicitor thinks I have very good case and strongly feels that if went to court shared care wouldn’t be granted . As he is a bully I do also feel like I just need to be courageous and go to court so the power is taken out of his hands when I really do believe I am being reasonable ( agreeing to a shared care equal split in a few years time )

On the other hand reading about the court process and knowing this will mean that this whole ordeal is just going to be dragged out if he refuses the 60/40 suggestion makes me seriously consider whether it will all be worth going to court over .

I appreciate no one can tell me what to do but any experiences, or advice on what I could expect / the costs would be really appreciated .
