How do I find a GOOD solicitor?

To deal with divorce? I live in a fairly rural area close to 2 small towns. Friends have recommended one company but stbx has already had an appointment with them though hadn't instructed them.

I just don't know where to start. I'd like to think it will be straight forward but in reality he's likely to be difficult.

I would phone around and see a few others, perhaps your ex is trying to do the same to stop you getting a good solicitor?

I think he's just gobe to the main o e in the town that he lives in. Which happens to be the one that a couple of people ha e recommended to me.

I just don't know how I'm supposed to know which ones are good or not. I keep hearing "get a shit hot solicitor" in case he's an arse.

See a few, see who has the temperament and gives great advise. If you see a few you should be able to work out who knows their stuff.
Research their names online, you would be able to see all their qualifications and reviews from other people.

Listen to your gut too.
