DS is 4 months old. Ex P chose to withdraw contact from me when I found out I was pregnant and was absent up until DS was 6 weeks old when I instigated contact.
To cut a long story short I let him see. DS on several occasions but stopped contact due to his cannabis use and demanding/verbal abuse while turning up for his access hours.
This was done through my lawyer sending him a letter.
My lawyer has now received a letter stating from his lawyer that he wants a paternity test.
I am sure after this he will then apply for PR ( was absent to sign BC) and a court order.
I’m really anxious as to what the next steps will be. We currently stay 20 mins away from EX P but are in the middle of looking to move 100 miles away to where all of my family and support network stay. I’m wondering if anyone can advise me on what my rights are for moving when her gets PR, and what access he would be ordered for when we move. It could be possible that we don’t move until early next year but I need to be closer to my parents as I am 22 and have no family where I am. I went through a stressful pregnancy where I was extremely ill and high risk and could not cope with a move at that time.
I am really stressed as to the next steps and what my rights are and will be to re locate nearer my family with the baby and if he can stop me or if a judge will think I am doing it to stop access even though I had planned this when EX P refused contact.
Also does anyone have any idea how long these processes will be from him applying for a dna to actually having DS for access?
Please help me 😰

Whether he has PR does not affect your rights regarding moving. He can apply for a specific issue order to stop you moving with your child. However, in the circumstances you describe it is unlikely that the court would stop you from moving.

Why is he applying for a paternity test? Are you denying that he is the father? Or does he think he might not be the father?

Thankyou , I’m not sure why he is asking for a paternity test. I’m not denying he is the father. X
