Child Maintenance - discrepancy

Ex has been told his new levels of payments by the CMS for 2018/2019, and so have I. It seems that CMS presents the amounts differently to each party.

Me: I have been given a list 5th April = £X 5th May £X, and so on. Very clear.

NRP: Says he was given weekly amount which he 'thought' must start in April and has calculated a slightly lower amount per month than the CMS did.

Does the CMS really present payments clearly to the parent with the kids, and just a weekly amount to the NRP which leaves them to calculate (or potential miscalculate)? Confused Confused

No, they don't, it is the same for him, he will have been given a monthly list of expected payments and how much too. He is having you on.

Thanks Gagastwin - that's really helpful to know.

I will call the CMS when they open tomorrow [sigh]. (They were actually very good when he started re-inventing the payment rules decided in mediation- hence we're with the CMS)

He will get a letter and it will have a weekly amount on it. But then on the next page or two it will have a payment plan (which accounts for arrears/overpayments etc)

He should have the same info as you.

Thank you flamingofridays

He is probably multiplying his weekly amount by 4. What he should do is x52 then /12.
