How long til CMS show their teeth?

Still waiting, after 4 years of non-payment for the CMS to show their teeth and actually do something about the thousands of pounds I'm owed in maintenance from my DC's dad.
They've got all the evidence from me, they say it's in hand....I'm not holding my breath!
Has anyone actually ever received anything in back payments?

I had a similar situation - I wrote to my MP who did chase it up but the incompetence of the CMS was beyond belief and they kept giving me contradictory information and I never spoke to the same person twice so each call I had to go through the whole sorry tale. I eventually went through the ICE - independent complaints and they replied after about a year saying that CMS made a huge number of errors but then gave them ages to sort it. Even after the deadline the CMS managed to allow my ex the benefit of the doubt as he queried it again. I did eventually get it after hours and hours of frustrating calls to them. I did get a small amount of compensation too. It was very frustrating. Writing to your MP and asking the CMS to refer you to ICE are the two steps to push it along - but you will still have a long wait by which time my daughter was over age and so they raised that as an issue!! I really feel sorry for you and hope you get it back.

Put in a complaint and see if it speeds them up.

My daughter was born in 1993, I got a letter in 2016 informing me her father hadn't paid any maintenance!
This was after repeated complaints etc over the years.
This was the CSA though, so hopefully you'll get something a lot sooner.
