Deedpoll children

Ex hasn’t seen 2 of 3 children for 3 years, which was one session and two sessions (contact centre) previously to that it was one year with no contact and previously to that it was 2 years no contact.

One child hasn’t seen him at all since 2012. Contact was short lived for around 4-5 months.

He sends a card (well his gf does) once a year.

Children all want to change their surname to my remarried name, or at least double barrel with their current one.

Can I do this by deed-poll?

I changed my children's last names by deed poll (their choice) but my exh had to sign a form giving his permission!

Assuming father has PR, then no, you need his consent or a Court order.
