Teenager leaving home

DD’s friend, 17, wants to move out but cannot afford a flat.

If we let him stay with us will this be okay, or is there a child safety issue?

TIA

Why wouldn't it be alright as long as all parties are agreed?

Helpmeplan · 10/03/2018 19:00

Fine

It will be fine if that is what he wants and you are happy with it.

LetsGoBitches · 10/03/2018 19:05

Can you clarify your fears about child safety please @AndoraBell?

MrsBertBibby · 10/03/2018 19:05

If he was under 16 you would need to report to the local authority to get checked out, but at that age assuming you're in England/Wales no issue.

No fear LetsGo just that when I left home at 16 my mother couldn’t stop me but now 18 is the cut off from child to adult. So I didn’t know what the legal status is at 17.

Thanks for all your responses.
