Hi, looking for a little advice if possible please....

Oct 2016 I paid approx £3.5k upfront for dental work. All was well for about ten months, my braces (top and bottom ugh) were fitted. However my dentist then started cancelling appointments and at one point disappeared for around six weeks, I had to tolerate a broken brace cutting into my gums during this time... anyway she finally came back in November 2017. I had my brace fixed and now she's vanished. Her phone is disconnected and her premises have a 'To Let' sign outside.

We were given an emergency contact at one point but when I rang her, she said she's not seeing anymore of the other dentists patients and advised me to see my 'normal'/nhs dentist to get some advice. (If that makes any sense at all?)

I just want the work finished, braces removed and retainer fitted. Does anyone know what steps I could take to get back some of the money paid so I can get the work done elsewhere?

Did you pay by credit cases, debit or cash? If by credit card your company is jointly and severally liable for any breach of contract under the consumer credit act. Unfortunately visa debit and cash do not provide same protection.

I would get in contact with the general dental council to see if they can help in any way.
