Hi, DP and I are due to marry this year, first for me, 2nd for him. I have DS8 who lives with us, DP has DS19, DD17 and DS11 none of whom live with us. Mortgage is in my name only.

We're currently reviewing will, insurances, pensions and the likes and want to get everything up to date and formalised.

Looking for advice/guidance on what other people have done in same/similar situation to make sure everyone is treated fairly and equitably...?

I just went to a solicitor who gave me advice on what to do and then they made up my will for me.
The solicitor can advise you but it will really be up to you on what you and your dp want, are you married?

There is no fair way here.

For a start once you marry half of that house is his.

I’d highly recommend putting it in a trust for your son

In terms of the house, it's goes to son with then DH being eligible for life rent. My main worry (selfishly) is that DPs relations do not benefit from all my savings. My son is my priority.

I agree, your son should be your main priority. Thanks
