contact order for 2 children

Hi had a contact order via the family court in October 2016. The father was given indirect contact of 3 letters per year to the 2 younger children who were then 15 and 9. I was resident parent. He has not sent anything since. Older children is now 16 soon to be 17. I have googled and seen the contact orders expire at 16 unless exceptional circumstances. (youngest child is now 11). Will there be a new order sent out without 16 year old name on it or does it just expire?. I have emailed several local solicitors and had no response on this. He was very abusive to me and the children and only used the family court to continue the abuse and he wanted to get the maintenance reduced. Thanks for any advice here.

No new order will be sent. The order will just no longer apply to the 16 year old.
