Hi all

My husband who I am separated for is living in the matrimonial home and has changed the locks. I need my passport for ID purposes and he is ignoring all my messages. He said months ago that he could not find it, but even when I sent a message saying I know where it is (and explaining) and if he can't find it, can I come and look for it, he is ignoring them.

Can I ring the police (non emergency obviously)? I need it ASAP for trying to sort out housing!

Report it lost/stolen

Yes, call the police. If you know where it is they can go in and get it for you.

Good luck Flowers

You still have occupancy rights to the house under the Matrimonial Homes Act so he can't lock you out. Call the police and possibly your lawyer.

Get a locksmith bad go and get the paperwork you need. It is still your house and you have the right to enter it. No need to waste police time. Or it may be cheaper to just get a new passport

Just report lost/stolen.
I’d imagine anything that puts you out is going to please him if he’s being difficult so don’t give him the satisfaction.

Have you registered home rights?
