Specific issue order for travel

Hi everyone, I will try keep this short.
Me and my 5 year old sons dad separted nearly 5 years ago. Contact hasn’t always been consistent, dad has let son down quite a lot. Before Christmas he was having contact every third weekend and had him over night twice for the first time just before Christmas. Last September I decided I wanted to take son abroad to Europe for 3 months before I return to uni and son starts school. Dad agreed to this. So it was booked and paid for, son is very excited. Just after Christmas me and dad argued and he is now saying I can’t go. As I don’t have written consent I am thinking of going to court to get a specific issue order which would allow me to take son without dads consent. I have left a lot of details out about dads behaviour to try and keep this short but I want to know if anyone has a similar experience and knows what chance I would have of being successful in court.
Thanks

You would need to show that the trip would be in your son's best interest which would depend on a lot of factors.
