I am considering going to a solicitor so I am hoping you have some advice.
I don't even know where to begin with this absolute shit show.
Last year I applied for my court funds account from when I was a child - to provide some background, I have applied for it around 10 times total since I turned 18 and each time the relevant Court has rejected it with a random reason (twice, "we're moving court, please apply again later. the usual reason is "details do not match any account in our system.")
So I applied September of 2016 and had it rejected, this time the reason was "Have you changed your name?" No, I hadn't. However this time I followed it up with multiple phone calls to find out why they couldn't locate my account.
it was finally, after LITERALLY months of phone calls, found by my local court after they had to write to London Court to find the original details as they had lost them.
They found these details and gained court permission to apply for my money in June of 2017, this year.
The Glasgow court then rejected this request because the details I originally supplied need to be within a 3 month period.
However, this was in June this year and they were due to combine with the Local city court in July. They did so. I still hadn't heard back since early June about my court funds, so I made multiple phone calls to the City Court trying to find out what was going on. I finally found out it had been rejected on the 28th July, and they couldn't let me know this because they had lost all of my documentation in the Court move.
As requested, I then re sent all of my documents to the City court. After 3 weeks, I phoned to ask how things were progressing to be told they hadn't checked their in tray post and didn't know if they even had my documents. I requested a call back if they found them and re-sent my documents AGAIN. No phone calls back were made and the woman dealing with my case would never answer the phone or return phone calls.
In October, I formally requested somebody else deal with my case. They asked that I then send all my documents and a note explaining what had gone on so far FAO a new person at the City COurt.
i did so, after a week I called to ask if the person had received my documents. Yes, I was told they had, they are applying to court on my behalf and I'll hear back shortly.
It's now been 6 weeks and I have today had a letter through the post once again telling me they have LOST the account and don't have any accounts belonging to me. DESPITE it literally being on the "claim an unclaimed court fund" website and the Court Fund Office have literally sent me 2 letters telling me to claim it before it expires (or something).
What can I do now? I am SO frustrated of this.
