Ok so I am 23 weeks pregnant and my ex was abusive I tried to press chargers but the courts said there wasnt enough evidence to charge him, but put a dvpo in place that ran out so I got a non Mal order which is in place till April im due in march so he went be on the birth certificate. He broke the order and now has to do community service and some drug counseling aswell. I am worried that once the order is up he will try to get contact with my baby im not saying I don't want him to have any contact but I don't feel safe with him having her over night and for long periods as I feel he will get bored and leave her with his mum who is a alcoholic to go out with his friends. Also I am worried he will still be doing drugs and drinking heavily is there anything I can do to protect my baby if the courts don't agree on supervised visits which I will be asking for. Im really worried for her being left alone with him.

Yes, the courts can order hair testing for drug and alcohol misuse.

In the face of evidence of drug use and breaches, the court would be highly unlikely to consider unsupervised contact for such a young baby.

Don't put him on the birth certificate. Make him fight for that.

Can you get a solicitors appointment, To get proper advice, and put your mind at rest?
