999 call recordings

Can anyone advise how long 999 call recordings are kept?
Is it possible to obtain a recording for evidence in a claim?

This is keeping me awake atm so would be grateful for any advice.
I am going to go and try and get some sleep, many thanks in advance.
I have a long and busy day tomorrow but will check back when I can.

I googled it for you and it says two years. The same, and many other sites tell you how to get a recording under the Freedom of Information act.
