Mediation problems

Hi guys! My ex partner is causing problems with mediation and has chosen a solicitor that charges more Than I can afford. What should I do? Do I go and hope for the best or do I refuse to go and take it to court? I can't get legal aid through them so I'm stuck.

If you would qualify for legal aid mediation then pick one that does it. The court can stand a case down for mediation if the judge is minded. Or you could say you’ll attend but he’ll have to pay for it.

I've asked him to pay as I haven't got the money and he has refused. I've looked around and am currently in contact with another service but it won't be done by Wednesday which is when his team want to meet Sad

Tell them that you won't be meeting on Wednesday unless he pays. His team may want to meet on Wednesday but they can't force that timescale on you.

I've stated I want him to pay, he has refused. Which doesn't surprise me to be honest
