Clean break?

Sorry for spamming this legal stuff section, bit wound up after yesterday's FDR 😬

There's one paragraph that reads:

"Except as provided in this order the Respondent's claims for periodical payments orders shall be dismissed, and she shall not be entitled to make any further application in relation to the marriage under the Matrimonial Causes Act..."

Does this mean a clean break?

Also, can anyone explain in non-legal terms what a clean break actually means?

It means you are going to be financially separate.

If he was paying you spousal maintenance or something then there would be an ongoing financial relationship. With a clean break, you don't have that.

Thanks @Caspiana.

And that paragraph I've posted above means that we have a clean break?

Does it also mean that neither of us could apply to court to have anything changed with regards to the finances between us? So split of assets and maintenance etc stands as it is in this order?

(I've understood that CM is a separate issue)

Yes it is clean break, and it means that the order is permanent.

@Caspiana thanks again, then I think I feel like I've understood the order properly!
