Some help over dads will/no will and house

Hello, hoping some one can help.

Dad died suddenly recently and apparently left no will although he told me and family members he was amending it to make sure myself and siblings were included. He has remarried, sold our old family home which had been in our family for three generations. He used this money to buy a new house with new wife.

He was apparently looking for a flat and things wasn't great between them. I don't have a great relationship with her

Don't know where to start as can't afford an expensive solicitor.

Can myself and siblings make a claim on their house. It's all dads money as she didn't and never worked. How do I find out if he had a will. She has empted his bank.

Thanks

I don't know the answer, but I know the inheritance laws are different in Scotland and England, so you should probably say where you are. Sorry for your loss Flowers

You will have to check with local solicitors to see if anyone holds the will. Unless you are in the will as an executor you may not be entitled to information.

Get office copy entries of the title to the property from the land registry. Unless there is a joint proprietorship restriction the wife may already be the owner of the property by survivorship.
