Do I need to redo my will after moving?

My will states that I, xxxx, residing at yyyy address, do want to do abc etc etc etc

Just realised that I've moved (Scotland to England if that makes any more difference!) and the address is wrong.

Do I need to get a new Will done?

It isn't normally necessary to change a will just because you've moved house, however you've also moved from one legal jurisdiction into another so you may need to change it, depending on your circs/the nature of your assets.

There is a clause in my will that states "domiciled in Scotland" so it might need a codicil added.

I just changed a bit of mine and the whole format ha changed and the language used is now more English than lawyer.

If you have an ongoing power of attorney that is different.

Scottish Wills only need one witness whereas English Wills need two. There are likely other differences. It depends on your domicile and where your assets are held. Assuming you own property in England now that you didn't before, you will probably need new Wills.

Yeah, I suspect I do then. Bugger.

Ah well, best break the news to DH.

Thanks folks!
