Speed guns and unmarked cars

Do speed guns record cars details? Registeration etc? I don't think I was speeding but a police man in an unmarked car was holding a camera "I think" and as I got closer he put it down but continued to watch for on coming cars? I don't know whether it was a speed gun or what? I never got pulled over or anything

It will tell him the speed you are / were doing. So he pointed it at you, and you were OK, so nothing to do except wait for the next one.

It was probably a speed gun. They will normally pull you over if you are speeding. However, if it was dangerous to stop you they can still contact you at home.

Yes it would have been a speed gun & whenever they point it at a car to check the speed, it automatically registers the cars reg plate at the same time. If you get a police prosecution letter through the post (fine & points on licence) it's because the DLA give them the name & address that the car is registered to. Fingers crossed for you

It's easy. Don't speed. It's a limit for a reason, not a target.
