I hope that someone can advise please...
Bought second hand car from a dealer. Yesterday the clutch went when I was on the motorway. The dealer had given me a 3 month warranty, and he asked me to take the car to his preferred garage for repair. Today they called to tell me it was ready for collection. I asked what had been done to the car, and they mechanic responded sarcastically, saying: we fixed it. I said, "That's fine, so you will give me the paperwork tomorrow when I pick up the car?" He said, no we won't give you any paperwork, we give it to the person who paid." I can't understand why they won't confirm in writing what has been done. I'm concerned that they are being deliberately vague in order to do the bare minimum to keep the car running until the warranty expires at the end of the month.
As the legal owner of the car, am I not entitled to know what has been done to it?
