Right to see job reference...

Could anyone confirm whether I have a legal right to request to see a reference an employer has sent about me please? If so, would my right be under the DP Act or something else?

Thanks in advance

The employer who gave the reference does not have to show it to you. There is an exemption in the Data Protection Act. However, if the employer who received the reference has retained a copy they should share it with you if you make a subject access request.
