Clarification on divorce law

Posting for a friend. Her ex applied for the divorce, and when she was sent the initial court date, her solicitor told her that she had actually received the decree nisi. Solicitor then told her that he had to wait six weeks to get the decree absolute but that she could apply in three months. Solicitor said that these two time periods ran concurrently. However from everything we've read online, her three months begins when his six weeks ends. Anyone know which is accurate

The three months run from the date (6 weeks plus 1 day after decree Nisi) when the petitioner can apply.

So your friend can apply around 4.5 months after DN.
