Details of a trial

One of my friends was killed in a RTA at the beginning of the year. A man was arrested at the time on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and bailed until 4th May.

I would like to know if the case has gone to trial (or what is happening if it hasn't, re-bailing or whatever) and find out the circumstances that my friend died in and find out what happens to the guy (i.e. punishment, if it was his fault) but after looking at various local news sites, the BBC, numerous google searches etc, have not been able to find anything out anything further.

Is it possible to find details of court cases anywhere? I know you can search for cases that are happening but I don't know the defendant's name (the reports at the time just said that a 44 year old man had been arrested) so I can't really find much out.

To be honest, it's still quite soon for it to have reached court, especially if expert / police evidence is required (and it often is in death by dangerous). If I were you, I would keep an eye out in the local press for the next three or four months. Family liaison will be assisting the family who will, I presume, distribute the info to those close to the deceased.

Thank you for your reply.

So chances are he would have been re-bailed or remanded to custody? I will keep an eye on the local press. It's just frustrating not knowing! He's been on my mind a lot lately for various reasons so I think that's making me even more antsy.
