Threatened sack by husband

My husband and I have worked together for a number of years. I have shares in the company, I am the accountant and also the co secretary.
my husband has moved out and we have been seperated for a while. I have continued my job working from home as I always have but he has said that if I start seeing anyone else I will have to leave the business. It isn't that I want to start seeing anyone specific but I hate having this threat hanging over me. He wants us to get back together and I feel like this is his way of hanging on.
I wouldn't be able to earn this sort of money elsewhere but more importantly I am so flexible working around the kids and school holidays and I wouldn't get that elsewhere. I just don't know what to do. I know legally he can't sack me for no reason. I would hate to involve lawyers, I really thought we could get along but not if he sacks me. I just don't know what I'm meant to do.

Are you paid a salary? If so you have employee rights. He cant sack you without reason.

The shares cannot be taken off you- but he could close the company?

I'm pis via paye salary. I'm not a director. I have 14% of shares, my husband (a director) has 51% and there is another director with 35% of shares.
I can't see him closing the company, he has a lot of staff and due to the type of business it would cause a lot of issues closing it down to reopen it.
If he sacked me would he then have to pay me what I have lost in income as maintenance?

If you have worked there for more than two years he can't sack you for no reason.

OP I was in this situation except I was company secretary in name only but had 50 ./. Share holding. I was ordered to transfer my shares over to X by judge - she could not order me to resign but X has now dismissed me citing the animosity as reason. I have not received funds from dividends declared in my name but had to pay tax on the full amount. X has told CMS that he pays me- funnily enough what my salary was and so I am having to prove this. I am also in correspondence with tax office. My X had affair with employee and still work together. I was SAHM for 20 years with depression diagnosis but judge,s decision is I will be able to find full time work at 55 on £20k so no ongoing maintenance. Get yourself a good solicitor - I have been massively let down by legal profession who claimed they got my case then ditched me before final hearing. I got nothing for my contribution to the marriage which allowed X to build up business. I also lost family home due to manipulation of facts.

They cannot do this without good reason. What reason did they give you? Most common two are either not paying agreed costs or asking them to mislead the court. Apologies if it's neither of these.

He could have to make you redundant (if position is meets requirements) and if you've been employed over two years, you'd get redundancy. Might not be a lot though.
Shares could be transferred to him at a price. To do this, the company should be valued, and then the share price worked out and sold. Is the company doing well?
