Legal Confirmation in Scotland

Hi

Can anyone offer any advice regarding the obtaining of a legal confirmation in Scotland? Parent has passed away without a will so I understand we need to deal with the estate (1 property with value approx £270k). No surviving spouse so it would go to the children equally.

Have you done it yourself or did you appoint a solicitor?

How long did it take?

If there is no Will you need to get a Bond of Caution You would need to check with the Insurance company who would provide this but I think they would need a solicitor to be involved
