We used some builders in the summer who did a completely krap job and they did not do basic things. Any way we have now had to pay for it all to be done again properly. Does anyone have an experience of claiming something like this on insurance?

Why aren't you making a claim against the builders?

not sure how to do so, any tips

If you have legal cover on your house insurance they may be able to pursue it for you. Alternatively, if the amount involved is less than £10k (assuming you are in England) you can do it yourself as a small claim.

Did you give the original builders a chance to fix their work? Did you get a report showing what was wrong?
