Cooking smells from next door

Just looking for any advice or if anyone has experienced this issue. Next door is rented and a nice family have moved in - whenever she cooks Indian food my whole house ends up smelling of it. Its worse in the kitchen where our boilers etc. pipes, vents are, but it travels through my house. I have had any holes as such where my new boiler was fitted and when I spoke to the neighbours they did say they would speak to the agency as they experienced smoke in their kitchen when I burnt some toast once. Any advice would be great, have tried neutradol odors and candles, but they seem to just disguise the problem. Im worried when my windows open when weather changes if the problem gets worse. Thank you for any help!
