If my ex has signed the contract for transfer of equity, is he legally bound to go through with it?
He has now changed his mind and has issued court proceedings to get a bigger share.

There isn't usually a contract for a transfer of equity. Are you in England/Wales, or elsewhere?

So this document, was his signature witnessed? Did it have any kind of heading or form number on it?

Have you drawn down the remortgage? Has he had any money? Has he got a solicitor?

Just trying to work out where you are with this.
