Wills and divorce

I know that a will becomes invalid on marriage other than under certain specific circumstances. Following through from that I'd assumed that the same would be true on divorce. However I was on a course recently where I was left with the impression that divorce doesn't invalidate a will.

Can anyone clarify for me please.

If you divorce, any provision relating to your ex spouse is treated as if the ex had died, unless the will specifically says otherwise.

Yes divorce does not invalidate will, it's read as if former spouse pre deceased. Be careful if you are separated but not legally divorced.
