Land registry not updated

My DF sold a property in 2012.
It was a commercial property she had been left in an inheritance. It was all transferred to her name and all the work was done by solicitors.
The land registry has not been updated. It was only found out as a delivery person fell on the property last year and has pursued a claim against her. The first she knew is when she got a letter through the post from the small claims court!
What should she do? She can't afford a solicitor any longer but this is affecting her health.

She needs to go back to the solicitor/conveyancer who acted for her at the time and ask them to look into why the sake has not been registered. In the meantime she should write - pen, paper, envelope and stamp - to the claimant's lawyers and tell them she has not owned the property since x date. Get proof of postage at a Post Office.

Either her solicitor or the Land Registry have made a mistake somewhere. This should not cost your friend anything to resolve. She should of course spend £3 getting a download of the title register showing it still bears her name.

Wow, thanks do much for replying. she's been back to the solicitor who represented her and they've advised calling the buyers solicitors saying the buyer is responsible for land registry change.

They are right that it's got nothing to do with them - it is the buyer who is responsible for registering their title. Your F (friend? - fiancee?) just needs to say that they are no longer the owner, and produce a copy of the deed of transfer. To get involved any more than that would be unnecessary.
