A question about probation

Offender is released from prison on probation. There are several conditions attached to their licence. While still on probation, they commit a new offence. It is not a violation of their licence conditions but a different offence altogether. Would they be recalled to prison to await trial for the new offence or would they be allowed to remain outside? If found guilty of the new offence, do they serve out the rest of their original sentence before starting the new sentence, or do the two run concurrently?

It's a standard licence condition that the licencee doesn't commit any crime or associate with criminals.
