I have tried to look online myself but am not sure of the best way to do this - I have mislaid the Deeds to my house and would like to get a copy. I would like a paper copy rather than it being sent online. Could anyone please advise the best way of applying for this?

I would suggest you contact the Land Registry, they are usually very helpful I find.

Yes you can order a copy from the land registry website.

Thank you both for replying and sorry to sound so stupid but I did previously look on the LR website but couldn't work out which option to take as there seemed too many and different ones to choose from with links taking you from one thing to another.

You go to the Land Reg website and buy the Office Copy of the title (not the filed plan). Just put your payment details in and download the OCE.

You can then just print it off if you want a paper copy. These deeds are largely irrelevant as almost all houses are now registered.

The online service will enable you to view/download and save a copy of the register and/or title plan for £3 each.
If you want a paper copy then you can apply for a copy using a form OC1 and paying £7 each.

If the register refers to any deeds/documents as being filed (not all will) then you can also apply for a copy of these by post if you want to - form OC2 and £7 each again and the guidance under 'get a copy of the deeds' refers

As over 24 million registered titles are held electronically there is no need to have and to hold a paper copy of the registered details - I appreciate that is what you want but have a read of our online blog as well as this may help as well
