DS bought a phone with cash, not £££. It was faulty so took back for refund, was told couldnt refund as a piece of card was missing from packaging and was given a replacement, also faulty.

I have talked to Trading Standards, faulty goods means refund, ds didnt know, and packaging shouldnt be taken into consideration. Great I thought, except ds has no receipts for either phone, I know, I know.

DS is distraught, only earns £5 an hour from a saturday job so was huge amount to him.

Anything we can do

That is incorrect if it was just a case of changed his mind, he would need a receipt for faulty goods it's a refund

Still needs proof of purchase, doesn't have to be a receipt but hard to have that if paid cash

Yes complain to manager. Ask them for cctv to show your son buying the phone. Ask for their own till receipts. They will have a record of selling that phone.
Keep complaining.

I have just looked at said company return.refund policy and it says packaging if possible, so ds should have been refunded at that point when he had receipts. I am fuming, just feel that because ds is young he has been flannelled!

DS out so cant get more details at the moment but hoping that bank statement showing withdrawal on the day of purchase will suffice. I am thinking of going straight to HQ rather than store as I think they should know that what is happening info wise is totally wrong. It is a huge uni.college town so ds wont have been the only one I feel.
