Parental responsibility for step parent

My DDs father and I were married when she was born, we separated and divorced when she's was 3. She's now 5 1/2. I have residence ( by court order), he has her eow. My 'new' DP and I have bought a house together, I want him to have parental responsibility. How do I go about doing that and what happens if her father objects?

You cannot give your current partner PR unless you marry him and the father agrees to him getting PR. Unless both of those conditions are in place it isn't going to happen I'm afraid.
