domestic abuse

I left my husband 2.5 yrs ago. So far I've logged approx 17 incidents of domestic violence and harassment with the police, things like threats, verbally, texts and via social media, turning up at my house shouting the odds in front of our children, trying to run me off the motorway, the list is endless. Each time I was told it was his word against mine, police logged it and said there was nothing I could do.
Eventually at my wits end the police issued him with a PINS notice.
This weekend he's been up again, shouting the odds and threatening my partner. I've had enough, I rang the police who said he now has TWO chances left since the PINS was issued! TWO?! What?! My life is hell. I'm tired of locking the door behind me, I'm tired of hiding out in the back bedroom on an evening.
I spoke to a sergeant who also said there was nothing he could do. I'm about to write to an inspector to see where I go from here. Surely all the logs should be enough? I've even moved house away from my family and friends to get away from him. Does it take for me to be physically injured before they do anything?

Is this not harassment, aside from anything else. Can you escalate this to someone higher up in the police service? What about contacting your MP about the lack of action by the police? Have they even questioned or spoken to him at any time?

Posted too soon. Do you have screenshots of threatening texts and social media posts? What about using a mobile phone to record him? Also look into getting CCTV at home.

I have all this, I've shown them the threats, the screen shots etc. They don't seem to care.
I'm sick of having to put up with it. The MP suggestion is a good idea. Thank you.
