I have recently been through a horrific experience, where I have been chased through the court and bailiffs for council tax on a property I own and let out through a reputable high street agency. I pay them a hefty fee to manage the property. I was unaware of any of this as Croydon Council had been writing to the old agency address. The agency is now saying it is up to me to update the council with their change of address, I wouldn't even think to as they manage all things to do with the council when I get a new tenant.
Any wise legal people put their know if it was my responsibility to update the council or theirs?
