Please help I have done something really stupid, don't know why I did it but was not thinking straight yesterday and went into a shop took lots of silly things really socks and things for me and the kids. Anyway I got caught, obviously, and have to go back to the police station at some point for a warning. I'm worried sick that my name and address will go in the paper now as I don't want my ex who was abusive to find out where I live. I'm so worried for the safety of my children over this I know I have done wrong and I feel so guilty and stupid about it :(

If you are just going to the station for a warning your name won't appear in the paper, the papers only publish names etc if people go to court.

If you need reassurance then speak to the police when you are at the station.

Oh thank god for that, I did wonder if it was only court things that made the paper but wasn't sure. Such a weight off my mind, and totally brought it home to me how a split second stupid decision could have impacted my childrens lives. Just feel really awful now and still don't really understand why I even did it!!

Maybe you should speak to your GP, it sounds like you have a lot on your plate, you may have done this as a result of stress.

Be kind to yourself, we all do silly things from time to time Flowers

Thanku I might have a word with my gp then, it does feel like everything is getting on top of me. Really hope you are right about the warning and also that it will just be that like the police man assured me it would be
